“What would you do if you weren’t afraid to fail?”

What is your answer this question? The Empowerment Project challenges and encourages the audience to say their dreams out loud. It is a film that documents the incredible journey of five women across the country.

The creators of the project, Dana Michelle Cook and Sarah Moshman, are Emmy-Award winning filmmakers who believe in the power of cinema to create social change. Driving from Los Angeles to New York over the course of 30 days, they strive to inspire and empower the next generation of women to pursue their goals and follow their dreams. With an all-female focus both in front of and behind the camera, the documentary truly depicts “Ordinary women doing extraordinary things.”

Since the film has been completed in 2014, it has become a nationwide success, having been screened over 300 times around the country and empowering thousands of women. Its message has reached such a wide audience that it has been featured and received great reviews on numerous news and media outlets, ranging from Forbes, The Huffington Post, to Marie Claire, who called it a “must see.”

The film is not available online, and is not for sale on DVD at the moment, as it is intended to be viewed in a group setting to generate discussion about female empowerment and gender equality. However, you can find a screening near you here, or watch the trailer on their website: http://empowermentproject.com/.
