Three years ago, Greenberg Glusker attorneys Stefanie Lipson and Cherish Hollowed created Fashion Your Network to celebrate women-owned and women-led businesses in Los Angeles. This year, we were thrilled to have attended this spectacular event, which not only showcased the extraordinary talent and innovation of female business owners, but also brought together other business leaders and top advisors.
Held at Greenberg Glusker’s offices in Century City on November 15, 2016, Fashion Your Network featured businesses including Sprinkles Cupcakes, Lucy B’s Apothecary, Katye Rayburn Purses, LA Closet Design, and Beauty Blender, spanning categories such as women’s, men’s and children’s apparel, jewelry, beauty, food and beverage. We had the pleasure of talking to many outstanding female business owners and entrepreneurs, and would love to share some highlights with you!
Founded by Melissa Levin and Abby Arad in 2014, Spritely Kids is an LA-based children’s wear brand that combines contemporary designs with eternal style. By taking a sophisticated approach to wardrobe essentials, they hope to bring high fashion to everyday favorites for kids.
Melissa and Abby were inspired to start the line by their own children – wanting easy to wear and modern clothes for their kids that were also reflective of their personal style, as well as their appreciation of nature, culture, architecture, and everything timeless, they decided to create their own. In designing each piece, they paid painstaking attention to details, especially the draping and fit, to ensure that all their clothes are comfortable, stylish, perfect for layering, and could be worn year-round.
Their latest Fall/Winter 16 Collection explores the Spritely Kids evolution by combining refined silhouettes with delicate details to create a set of sophisticated and chic, yet whimsical designs. Influenced by natural tones, subtle textures and shades of blue, this collection features luxe fabrics and intricate embellishments. Two years ago, Eunice Cho started her clothing line AELLA from the bottom up with the perfect pair of black pants. Now with a huge collection that features thoughtful details and smart fabrics, AELLA boasts sophisticated, polished, yet comfortable everyday wear for the modern women. In an interview with The Style Line, she said, “One of the reasons why AELLA started with pants is this: pants are a symbol of mobility, specifically women’s. It allowed more movement, both literally and societally. At the core of AELLA’s ethos is the expression of empowerment.”
The word “AELLA” also has a special meaning – Aella was one of the Amazonian women in Greek antiquity who battled Hercules. And just as Aella, with her unyielding strength and inspiring independence, seized the day and lived without boundaries, Eunice hopes to modernize and reinvent everyday essentials for today’s women by infusing sophistication and refinement into comfort wear.
